Cool Hand Luke film

Paul Newman teams up with George Kennedy in "Cool Hand Luke," a 1967 action, comedy, drama classic showing at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport on Tuesday, February 23, at 1:00 and 6:00 pm.

The film is critical of the inhuman treatment of chain gangs, while also celebrating the indomitable spirit of the downtrodden man.  Newman delivers an intense performance as the boss-baiter who refuses to submit and becomes a hero to his fellow prisoners.  Kennedy won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Newman was nominated for Best Actor.
